The atmosphere at Brim CC is warm and inviting, with a modest yet cozy space that suits intimate lunches or casual dinners. Both indoor and outdoor seating options create a pleasant environment to relax, highlighted by friendly staff who enhance the overall experience.

The menu is a carefully curated blend of classic Japanese dishes, with standout offerings such as the Half Curry Rice & Soup Set and the homemade Tokyo Curry Beef—dishes that showcase rich, comforting flavors without overwhelming heaviness. Their Charshu Ramen, featuring slow-cooked pork belly and a specially crafted soup base, delivers depth and nuance in every bite. For lovers of traditional donburi, Gyu Don and Gyu-Tan Ox Tongue Don provide hearty, well-seasoned options, while the Takoyaki Squid Balls and Ikasansai Squid Salad bring a delightful variety of textures and tastes.

Many patrons appreciate the blend of quick, efficient service and authentic flavor profiles. The curry dishes, including the Curry Katsu Don with its perfectly fried chicken or pork cutlets, receive notable praise for their generous portions and balanced sauces that lean towards a lighter, fresher style compared to the thicker curries often found elsewhere.

This organic café serves delicious Japanese food with a quick “get in, get out” vibe. I waited about five minutes for my meal. I ordered the Katsu Curry for $14.80, along with an extra katsu for $6. The serving size was pretty decent, with a good amount of chicken. The chicken was partially hidden under the curry sauce. The curry itself was flavorful and lighter than the thicker varieties typically found in Japan. Overall, it's a convenient local spot in the CBD offering quick service and good condiments to spice up your meal or add extra flavor.

Literally the most amazing Japanese meal I've eaten to date in Melbourne. Authentic and glorious! Cutest little Jafé (Japanese Café) with an extensive menu which feels like its family run and amazingly close to my workplace. Go here and taste the epic food, the staff are amazing also

It is a cheap lunch and the portion sizes are reasonable! However the taste of the food is average and somewhat bland for my opinion If you are not particular about the taste, overall is good! The staff is friendly, and there are seating options both indoors and outdoors

This Japanese set meal place may look modest, but the food is definitely worth recommending! They serve purple rice, which is both healthy and adds a nice texture. The seasoning across the dishes was just right. My family really enjoyed the eel, and I ordered the pork cutlet rice bowl. The only small downside was that I wished there was just a bit more sauce. The fried chicken, on the other hand, was crispy, flavorful, and juicy on the inside—really satisfying overall!

Used to order from here when I lived in the city during lockdown. So nice to finally have made it here in person and it had been so long but it was so bloody good, just as good as I remember it being. The food has a wholesome home cooked quality that I just haven't experienced anywhere else. I'll definitely be back again

▪Authentic Japanese curry at an affordable price with generous portions - a rare find in Melbourne!▪ I tried the Curry Katsu Don ($14.80) & Ramen Katsu ($15.80), and was impressed by the abundant servings. The flavors are satisfying and well worth the price. I'm eager to return and explore more dishes on the menu
